How can I cancel a birth certificate for passport purposes if I have two birth certificates? What is

In 2016, I applied for a passport using a birth certificate with an incorrect DOB (1994), while my other documents show the correct DOB (1995). I was advised then to rectify the DOB in my birth certificate but did not do so. When I reapplied in 2020 with the DOB from my AADHAAR, the passport office raised the same issue regarding the incorrect DOB on the old birth certificate. They have now asked me to either cancel the old birth certificate or rectify the DOB. However, when I contacted the Nagar Nigam in Kota, Rajasthan, I was informed that a birth certificate cannot be canceled. What are my options now to obtain a passport?
