Family pension record and aadhar dob mismatch

11-Mar-2026 (In Civil Law)
My mother’s Aadhaar has an incorrect date of birth because the voter ID earlier had a wrong entry. Her correct date of birth is 15-01-1952, which is recorded in the Government of India pension records of my late father (who retired in 2004) issued by the Central Pension Accounting Office (CPAO). Since she does not have a birth certificate due to her age, we are requesting UIDAI to correct the DOB but they rejected it. My mother doesnt any other certificate. What to do?

Please do not worry about the initial rejection; this is a procedural hurdle that can be resolved with patience. Since your mother has official Government of India pension records from the CPAO, you have very strong evidence in your favor. You should calmly approach the UIDAI Regional Office for a secondary review using these pension documents. If needed, a simple civil court declaration will provide a final, binding order that UIDAI must follow. Rest assured, your mother's rights are protected, and the correct date will be updated systematically once the right channel is used.

First, you should submit a **fresh correction request to Unique Identification Authority of India along with stronger supporting documents. Even if a birth certificate is not available, UIDAI sometimes accepts other government records such as Pension Payment Order (PPO), pension records issued by the Central Pension Accounting Office, passport, PAN card, or government service records showing the correct date of birth. If the UIDAI office still refuses to correct the date of birth, your mother can take the legal route. She may file a civil suit for declaration before the competent civil court seeking a declaration that her correct date of birth is 15-01-1952 based on available official records such as pension documents and other supporting evidence. Once the court passes a declaration order, UIDAI can be directed to update the Aadhaar records accordingly. Another practical step is to first correct the date of birth in other government documents such as voter ID or PAN (if incorrect there as well), using the pension record as proof. Once those documents reflect the correct date of birth, Aadhaar correction becomes easier. In summary, try resubmitting the request with stronger supporting government documents, and if the authority continues to reject it, the effective remedy is to obtain a civil court declaration of the correct date of birth, which UIDAI will normally accept for updating Aadhaar records.

Hi, i also have issue with CPAO regarding illegal deduction of pension of my grandmother for which i filed a case and same is pending in delhi. However, to answer your query, as per my understanding the UIDAI will not change the date of birth in Aadhaar merely on the basis of pension records or an affidavit. As per UIDAI guidelines, DOB can be corrected only if you produce at least one valid proof of date of birth such as Birth Certificate, Passport, PAN Card, marksheet/degree from a recognised Board or University, Government ID card showing DOB, Pension Payment Order, Driving Licence, etc. Since your mother does not presently have any such document, the first step is to get an acceptable DOB proof issued. You may apply to the local Registrar of Births & Deaths for late registration of her birth on the basis of available records and sworn statements, or obtain from the competent authority any Government ID/Certificate which mentions her correct DOB. Once you obtain one such document showing 15‑01‑1952, you can again visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra and apply for DOB update by producing the original document. If UIDAI still refuses despite valid proof, you can make a detailed written representation to the concerned Regional Office and, if required, approach the High Court seeking directions for correction, especially considering her age and the consistent Government records in support of her date of birth.

A writ petition can be filed before the High Court of Delhi for correction in the date of birth of your mother. usually for correction in the Aadhar some other identification proof is required but since your mother does not have any other identification proof other than voter ID the only appropriate remedy is approaching the High Court should you have any queries please feel free to contact me
