Do I need an advocate to represent me in court for drink and driving

One of my friend was caught by traffic police on 28-Aug-2016 for drink and drive case. his DL and Vehicle RC has been taken by traffic police and gave him a court notice copy, where it is mentioned that he needs to present in court on 10-Nov-2016. It is the first time he was caught by traffic police so could you please assist me that whether we have to hire a lawyer or just go there and accept the mistake? Please advise.

u means that section 184, 185 of MV act.
1st upon u decide the whether ur friend was drunk or not at that time.
2nd ur friend is ready to plead guilty then depositing Challan penalty before the Hon'ble Court thereafter ur whatever documents has been release by Police before showing deposit slip.
*but u r not eligible for govt. job in future.
3rd is ur ready to contest the matter then u engage the counsel, and he is suggest u properly...

You can take help of advocate to resolve the issue with less damage to you. Even though it is the first time you received notice from the court it is better to have advocate who act as friend of court.
