If your son's admission to the law course was canceled due to the college's negligence, you have several legal options. You may consider filing a writ petition in the High Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking a direction to the college to admit your son as per the admission policy and rules. Additionally, you could file a complaint before the Consumer Forum for deficiency of service, as education is considered a service under the Consumer Protection Act. In this complaint, you could seek compensation for any financial losses, mental agony, and inconvenience caused due to the college's negligence. If the cancellation of admission was due to a procedural irregularity or failure on the part of the college, you could also approach the University Grants Commission (UGC) or relevant regulatory authorities to initiate action against the institution. Furthermore, it may be advisable to send a legal notice to the college, demanding rectification of the issue and re-admission.
