About filing RTI under that RTI act, 2005

23-May-2025 (In Civil Law)
me and my boyfriend met though social media in Nov 2024, at that time i was 17.5 years old and we were in consensual relationship, and he was over 18, my father got to know about that and filed an FIR on him, i want more details about that FIR, so I'm thinking about filing an RTI for that but I'm unsure because at that time i was a minor, so my boyfriend might be dragged into this once again, what should i do?

Your father must have registered the complaint, either at the police station applicable where you live, either at the police station covering your school or college or at the police station which oversees the territory within which your boyfriend lives. Now if you’re scarred whether your boyfriend would be dragged again or not then you should get the information by availing services of a lawyer, wherein under client attorney privilege he would be able to gather information without disclosing much details.

your boyfriend can file an RTI with the concerned police station, and the police station has to give an answer for the same, and it is compulsory for them to either provide you with the information r u asked for, or they may deny it, and if they deny, then u can file an appeal with the appellate authority
