Aadhar DOB limit cross problem. 10th and birthday certificate is same.
28-Jun-2026 (In Civil Law)
My Aadhaar DOB update limit is crossed. However, my correct DOB is identical in my 10th marksheet and birth certificate. Will my DOB genuinely get updated in Aadhaar based on my 10th marksheet? If yes, what is the exact process and how much time will it take to update? Can you please guide or help me speed up this correction process? Kindly provide the step-by-step resolution. Thank you.
Yes, your Aadhaar DOB can still be corrected even after the normal DOB update limit is crossed, but it will not be processed as a routine update at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra. UIDAI allows an exception in special cases, subject to proper justification and verification, and such requests have to be taken through the UIDAI Regional Office. UIDAI’s FAQ says that where the Aadhaar update limit is exceeded, the person must visit the Regional Office and submit a formal request with supporting documents. UIDAI’s DOB SOP also recognises documentary proof for DOB correction, but for many cases a Birth Certificate is treated as the strongest document; Class 10 marksheet/certificate may support your case, especially when it matches the birth certificate. First, visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra and try the DOB correction with your original birth certificate and 10th marksheet/certificate. If the system shows “limit crossed/rejected”, take the acknowledgement slip/URN/EID. Then prepare an application addressed to the UIDAI Regional Office, explaining that your correct DOB is identical in your birth certificate and 10th marksheet, and that the earlier Aadhaar entry/update was erroneous. Attach self-attested copies of Aadhaar, birth certificate, 10th marksheet/certificate, rejection slip/URN, PAN/passport/voter ID if available, and a notarised affidavit stating the correct DOB and reason for correction. Submit it at the Regional Office or as directed by UIDAI helpline 1947/official email. There is no guaranteed timeline; normal updates may take a few days to 30 days, while exception cases may take several weeks because they need manual scrutiny. To speed it up, keep documents consistent, originals ready, track the URN, and regularly follow up with UIDAI.
If the Date of Birth update limit in your Aadhaar has been exhausted, a normal online correction may not be possible. However, if your correct DOB is consistently reflected in your Birth Certificate and Class 10 Marksheet, you can still seek correction by approaching the UIDAI Regional Office or filing a detailed representation with supporting documents. If your request is rejected despite genuine proof, you may challenge the decision by filing a writ petition before the jurisdictional High Court seeking appropriate directions to UIDAI for consideration of your case. Keep your Aadhaar, Birth Certificate, Class 10 Marksheet, rejection letter (if any) and update request details ready. If your documents are genuine and consistent, there is a fair chance of obtaining relief through the appropriate legal process
