Questions Answered by Advocate Sidhartha Sankar Sahu (25+ answers)
Q: I was beaten and Physically assaulted by a teacher for a small issue
I was late to school due to a Rapido delay and reached at 9:10. A teacher slapped me 15–20 times, my glasses fell twice, and my friend was hit with a steel scale. We were made to stand outside for 3 hours. Later, two girls who were also late were allowed to enter without punishment. This was humiliating and discriminatory. I request action against the staff involved.
Advocate Sidhartha Sankar Sahu answered
It is presuming that, student is minor. You should bring this matter with the knowledge of the principal either through advocate or by yourself & strictly ask principal to take stringent action against the teacher. If a minor student has been beaten, threatened, scolded or physically/verbally abused, it amounts to criminal offence under Indian law. When a minor is the victim, the law treats the matter more seriously. You can lodge FIR if principal flailed to act.
