No,It is crime to record private video of someone without there knowledge or consent. It falls under sec 354(c) of IPC which define Voyeurism.The punishment for this offence is provided under Section 354 (C) of the Indian Penal Code. Any person who is found guilty under Section 354 (C) shall be punished with imprisonment of not less than 1 year and may be extended to 3 years and shall also be liable for a fine. However, any person who has been given a second chance assured by the court and held liable for the same consequently then he shall be punished with imprisonment of not less than 3 years which may extend to 7 years and shall also be liable for a fine.
