This section said to be about causing hurt with dangerous weapons..or substance like poison,fire and acid under section 118(1)its a nonbailale offence triable by any magistrate ..police may arrest a person without warrent because this is a serious offense. The punishment for causing hurt in these cases can extend up to 3 years in jail, a fine of 20,000 rupees, or both.

Q: My husband (Petitioner not coming to rt for divorce cross examination.

My husband filed a divorce petition u/s 13 B, Hindu Marriage Act , I submitted w/s fending my position and requesting that the divorce be granted along with some alimony. He submitted an evidence affidavit but has not attended court for his cross-examination for over 1.5 years. My lawyer is suggesting that the case might be dismissed. However, I also want the divorce because he is not interested in staying with me, and I do not want to remain in a relationship unwillingly. Next step?

Can a judicial magistrate order the police for further investigation u/s173(8) if the the police send the charge sheet as FRT and the informant file a protest petition through complaint case.i would like to know has the judicial magistrate power whether to start the complaints case by recoding the statement u/s 200 crpc.or to send the complaints petition to concerned police station for further investigation u/s 173 (8) cr.pc.?
