Q: legal guidance on licenses of Sports startup

I am starting up a sports zone in aligarh, which will have a sports like paintball, quad biking, archery etc.. My area comes in commercial land and that will have cafeteria and games do not need any licence they all comes in play games. Do i need any other licence for this or you can advice us on this, what things we need to open the sports zone

Such activities would qualify as amusement and entertainment activities. You might need clearances by various departments to ensure safety. As far as taxation laws are concerned, you might need registration under service tax depending upon the considerations you receive towards tickets and might also need registration under VAT because of the cafetaria.

As far as legal compliances are concerned, it would depend on the nature of business (as in the nature of supply of service or goods you aim to provide) because only then it could be ascertained what all registrations would be sought.

Q: Can I start portal for rating colleges

Hello, We are launching a Educational portal wherein we shall provide information regarding colleges and institutes and give our rating based on our perception and reviews of Students. My doubt is my business questionable in any way like who are we to judge an institution or what's are legal aspect of such a website which will eventually be a Educational critic.

Unfortunately you cannot start such a portal prior permissions from concerned Authorities. Once a permission is sought, you would have tie up with educational institutions and then you will be allowed to rate them else they can easily challenge your activity and term it illegal.

Q: How can I get funding for startup if not registered yet

I am running online eyewear ecommerce website which is 1 year old. As of now it is generating nice revenue but to make it large i need a funding. Also it is not registered yet in any form of business. Please guide me to whom shall i approach for funding?

First I would like to congrats you on your business and hope it grows leaps and bounds. Arranging a funding if unregistered with any of the authorities will make the lender doubt the authenticity of the business and in such a case they would think a hundred times before making their mind. Its better to get the business registered and then its always easy to arrange for a funding. You can always go for personal loans but they charge high rate of interest, So in my personal opinion you should get your business registered with the authorities, although that'll add up to your expenses but I always say never fear those expenses if you have a successful plan to execute because at times it can open more ways for you. If you are from Delhi-NCR region, I can help you with the registration process and further plannings to ensure that it has least impact on your revenue. You can approach companies and other financial institutions which can probably grant you funds at concessional rates. You might get tax concessions as well. It needs to be weighed in the light of both the scenarios to see what is more successful so that your business does not end up facing unnecessary hurdles. If you want to grow then you would have to get yourself registered with the authorities sooner or later and the sooner it it the better its gonna be.

Q: Whether I should go for a partnership firm or LLP

hi, please advice me that whether i should go for a partnership firm or LLP, here all the three partners are real brothers. nature of business is goverment contractors

In my opinion, you should opt for creating for a partnership firm and not LLP. LLP has more compliance hurdles and is generally best suited for a professional services firm like that of a Chartered Accountants or a law firm.
