Hello, our neighbor's dog barking has been a nuisance for 7 yrs. We spoke once and texted them every 2-3 days in the past 2 yrs to not disturb us. We need some advice on the options open to us to resolve this nuisance as every aspect of our daily living has been affected. Also, is it permissible to use an ultrasonic dog bark training device to reduce this intrusion into our living space? (We chose family despite because it would not let us post without selecting an option).

1.A written complaint can be made to the local municipal authority / animal control officer.2.If barking is excessive, especially at night, it can be considered public nuisance under Section 268 IPC or even Section 290 IPC (punishment for public nuisance).3. can file a civil suit for injunction before the civil court to restrain the neighbour from allowing such disturbance.4. My suggestion as an advocate:Start with amicable settlement, then escalate to police / municipal complaint, and if still unresolved, go for a civil injunction suit for nuisance.
