Q: Is oyo safe for unmarried couples without any legal problem

Me and my girlfriend want to spend quality time with each other bt public place creates problem for us like people staring, parks, police harrasments etc. So one of my friend told me about oyo couple friendly hotels. So i knw it is legal for both of us to book an hotel room wr both are 18+ bt still this is our first time so we are scared. Is is oyo rooms safe for unmarried couples? What if someone do harrasments with us like police ? Pls suggest if they forcefully persuade us to go police station etc. How to keep ourself safe and secure? is it safe to go to hotel with girlfriend? We will show our identity proof also

Advocate Shekhar Banerjee answered
As long as both of you are above the age of 18, there is nothing to worry about. However, hotels have the right to refuse booking depending on their policies. So, please check their policies before booking a room. Usually, if they have a policy against unmarried couples, it is explicitly mentioned. Now if anyone harasses you while your stay at the hotel, including the police, rather than going to the police station, please immediately call on 100, report such harassment and ask for a team to be sent asap. It is not a crime to spend quality time in hotels and nobody can harass you for doing so.

Q: Separate registry of partitioned property

Hi, the property currently my family is living in, is partitioned between my father and his brother. Specific area is mentioned on registration deed for both the owners. I want to know what issues can there be in future if we want to sell our potion or in other scenarios. Also, if we want separate registration of our share, can it be done? And is there any way that we can skip stamp duty and registration charges as property area is big and we want to avoid the charges?

Advocate Shekhar Banerjee answered
Your current portion can be sold on the basis of the partition deed. If you want to further partition or transfer the property, that can also be done. Stamp duty and registration fee depends on state to state. Please contact me for detailed assistance.
