Questions Answered by Advocate Kuldeep Singh
Q: Marriage Certificate marrriage with usa citizen
My question is how can I legally register my marriage with a US citizen ? As per my knowledge there are two laws :- A) Special marriage act which takes approx 40 days (two visits of husband-wife). Is there any possibility of getting court marriage certificate in a week or in one visit of the US citizen? B) Punjab Special marriage act :- The marriage is registered after a religious marriage. Is it correct that this registration is not valid for visa purposes ? Or will it be accepted by the US Embassy? Kindly correct me where I am wrong. Suggest me a way. Thank you so much.
Advocate Kuldeep Singh answered
