Questions Answered by Advocate Jyoti Dharmani

Q: Marriage legality of British nationals married in India

Two british nationals married as per Hindu rites. One Hindu and one catholic. No registration of marriage done in India or UK yet. Is the marriage legally valid ?

Advocate Jyoti Dharmani answered
As per Hindu rites only saptpadi is important. If saptpadi is performed during marriage that marriage is a valid marriage without any registration. There is not necessary of registration in India. So there marriage is a valid marriage. Thanks
