Questions Answered by Advocate Hemadri VSSRR Chandrakanth

Q: What is the vide separate order meaning in a civil judgement ?

We filed a suit against a common property share. After 3 years, this is the judgment note provided. What is the meaning of this? As a plaintiff, have we won the case or not?
Judgment pronounced. (Vide Separate)
In the result, what is vide separate judgment meaning? The suit stands dismissed. No costs.

Advocate Hemadri VSSRR Chandrakanth answered
Dear client, in civil cases, the parties are referred to as plaintiff and respondent. The plaintiff is the person who files the case, and the respondent is the opposing party. If the court pronounces that the case is dismissed, it means the plaintiff lost the case and may need to move to a higher court for an appeal. Vide separate order meaning suggests that the details of the decision are provided in a separate document. If the judgment stated "allowed," it would mean you won the case.
