Q: How to claim right in the ancestral property sold by father and time limit to claim ancestral proper

My father had sold our ancestral property in 1998 and 2005, but I and my brother don't know about this transaction , for the other ancestral property sold we were the part in it , but the ones sold in 1998 and 2005 , we didn't get not part of it , still the revenue records show my father's name, so tell us how can we get our share/right in our ancestral property, Are we barred by law of limitation ? Is there any time limit to claim ancestral property?, what is the time limit to claim ancestral property in india?, answer me little briefly , tell me what all documents I may need ,

Q: Brothers right in fathers ancestral property that he wants to give me

I am from hindu family. I have one brother and he was living with my grand mother ( mother side). As per family understanding, it was agreed property of grand mother to my brother ( she dont have sons) & my father property to me. My father having one house , one acre land ( both purchased by own) , one acre (his mother given). My brother has interst on my father property.My father wanted to give me as gift to me. Since those are not ancestral propery, please tell me the legal opinion if he goes to court .

I have married 8years ago. They used to say that, if you bring gold and money, we will take care of you. I got some property from my parents, he used that money and buyed property.
