Questions Answered by Advocate A M Malipatil

Q: Death of a fellow friend in an car accident

We were traveling in a yellow board car which I drove without a yellow board license, what may be d punishment of the accidental death of my fellow friend who was in my car itself. I too was injured severely.

Advocate A M Malipatil answered
If you have light motor vehicle (LMV) license, that itself is sufficient. You can drive both yellow and white board cars. There is no any separate yellow board licence. But car should have the packaged Insurance policy which covers inmates of the car also. And you will not be held guilty of accidental death case, only if you don't have negligence on your part.
