How to register POA to sell a property of a foreign citizen in India
20-Aug-2023 (In Wills / Trusts Law)
Hello, My grandfather is a citizen of another country having the passport of that country. He gave me the power to sell his lands which are situated in India. He already sent me through post with valid notary public and apostile stamping. So my question is do I need any verification of that GPA in India to become a registered power of attorney. If yes, then what is the process...please tell me. I am from state X but the property is in state Y.
Its best to register your power of attorney in India for which your grandfather and you have to be present in India, visit the sub-registrars office and register the same.
If that is not possible even by drafting the POA well and putting the schedule of the property, you can sell the property on behalf of your grandfather without a problem.
