Payment of tax on the income earned or the money saved

i am from bangalore still i am a student but i have a doubt, I wanted to know that do i have to pay tax to the amount which i earn or the money that i save? Lets say i earn 10,00,000 per a year and spent all the money in the same year (on my home construction) now my question is that do i still have to pay the tax?
