In writ petition (c) a judge has the authority to issue a status quo order to prevent anyone from taking any action until the matter can be heard and resolved by the court. In the meanwhile, the parties shall maintain status quo with regard to the nature, title and possession of the subject matter/land.
And the same in lower court, in mandatory and permanent injunction a judge has the authority to issue a status quo order to prevent anyone from taking any action until the matter can be heard and resolved by the court

Status Quo means to maintain the status/state of the property, or matter in question.

If in a Property Suit an order to maintain the Status Quo has been passed, then you can't sell, sublet, lease or do anything with the property. You have to keep the property as it was on the date of passing of the order.

It means that court has ordered that the present condition be maintained and no change etc. be done. If there will be any alteration or change in the property after the order of status quo then contempt of court proceedings can be initiated.
