Transfer of property ownership

01-Jul-2023 (In Property Law)
My father passed away last year, he was the owner of an apartment. After his death how can the ownership be transferred to my mother? As far as I remember, I think my mother is mentioned as nominee. We are Hindus.

As per the query of law rato as your mother is a legal heir after your father so if you have got death certificate so I dont think you won't be have any problem to change the name in your mother name.

Hello you can check if the please where the property is situated if it can be transferred in blood relation without stamp duty e.g in Haryana property can be transferred to blood relation or spouse through transfer deed and no stamp duty is charged other wise get a WILL registered. In family settlement deed all family members have to relinquish their rights to beneficiary but if there is objection from any family member it creates dispute and litigation.
