Status of Legal title to the land

Sir, I, Mrs. Pramoda (Brahmin) purchased a land from 1995 from a person (say Mr. x General) who purchased the same from Late Mr. Y (Scheduled Caste). Still the record shows the land in the name of Late Mr. Y as on date. I was not aware of this fact since I am an illiterate person. I have been residing in that property from 1996 but the documentary evidence like Electricity bill is in my name from 2010. I want to make that property to be recorded in my name. Whether can I succeed in the Court of law or the legal heir of Late Mr. Y will won.
