Rent issue from tentant after lockdown
17-Jul-2023 (In Property Law)
I am a landlord and my tenant has not paid me rent for past 4 months because of coronavirus and we didn't ask for rent because of the pandemic but now as the lockdown is over the tenant is delaying to give the rent past a month and my agreement has expired on November 2019 and it is a residential premise and the rent is my main source of income. So what should I do? I want to vacate him from my premises, so can I do that?
Yes certainly.
File an application before the Competant Authority / civil court, depending on your location for eviction and taking possession of yiur premises.
In the same suit you may ask for the past rent/license fees which have been pending and your correspondence can be a part of it. You should get your valid claims through a court process.
