Remedy in case neighbours complaining of illegal construction

During the construction of retaining wall in my land, my neighbours complaint against me dat my construction was illegal, though it was found legal later on. Now what steps can I take against them for the unnecessary harassment and how to proceed for it, please let me know about its details.my religion is Hindu.
was there any kind of damage done by your neighbours when the complaint was made. I would suggest you not to drag the matter as pending litigation would not help you much. though you have the right to file a case of malicious prosecution against them,
