I have transferred a property from my father (my father is alive) to me.Now society is asking for the name transfer fee in share certificate . They are asking for 2-3 lacs. So is there any limit of transfer fee? Or any rule by which I don't have to pay this much amount of money. The society came to know that I going to take the ownership of the house from my father so the secretary and chairman decided to increase the transfer fee (4 times)amount from 50,000 to 2 lacs(at present). They have discussed internally (chairman and secretary) and also not asked the society members about this huge increment in transfer fee.
no society body can take such a decision on their own. however, whatever is mentioned in the memorandum of association of your society is the most considerable. in your case you have done the transfer in presence of your father that's why they are asking for the same. but anyhow could not double it as per their wish. there must be a logical ground. in absence of it you can challenge it before the appropriate authority. 4 Deep clarification you can call me 2 discuss it. thank you
