Procedure to convert residential property to commercial property

Sir as my property is currently residential but if i convert it into commercial property Can i give it for rental purpose for single head sewing machine? As one of my neighbor has threatened me that if i rent it for commercial purpose he will seal my property by giving a complaint Would that be possible for him to seal my property if it is in commercial form? After giving commercial status would my municipal corporation seal my property? how to convert residential property to commercial? please guide me
Residential Properties are meant for residential purpose only. When the original building plans and development permission granted, the use was also mentioned. If you change the purpose then its violation of the permission granted. So if you start some kind of business, your neighbour can complaint with the local authorities and local authorities can take the action of even sealing the property.

If your property is in residential form than the municipal corporation can impose penalty/ fine on you, if it is in commercial form then it is in legal form and the municipal corporation can't do any thing.

Contact the local property tax authorities in your local body/municipal office and request them to convert it to residential to commercial. They will do it by revising the property tax. The tarrif for commercial is two times comparing residential.
