Power of Attorney for Sale of Property

I will be selling a flat in the near future and it is my deceased mother's flat. My parents have passed away and my elder brother passed away recently. I am selling it and will be doing it on behalf of me and my brother's wife. She can't travel to Mt Abu where the flat is located and has asked me to take her power of attorney. I live in Delhi. She has asked me to come to Mumbai where she lives, to get the power of attorney document. How much does it cost in general? Do I have to be physically present to make a power of attorney? Can I do make the power of attorney done in Mumbai and take it to Rajasthan?
As per your query you need to get executed the power of attorney and then get it registered and only then you can sign on behalf of your sister in law. Power of attorney has to be registered where your sister in law is residing and your presence is required before the registrar for registering the power of Attorney. Stamp duty is applicable for the same.

Dear Querist, in present case the power if attorney can be registered in Mumbai or Mt. Abu.
As you will be the power of attorney holder, your physical presence is not required.
Your brother’s wife can attend registrar office and register power. But do register the power and dont keep it as notarized document, which may not be valid.
For drafting power, legal fees may vary from 10,000 to 25,000/- and registrstion charges would vary from 5,000/- to 15,000/-
