Payment for repairs in society if no structural changes are made

30-Aug-2023 (In Property Law)
I live in a 6 year old society . Currently there is rain water seepage from my balcony to the flat below. The person staying below us asking me to pay for repairs. I understand that as per law if I have not made ang structural changes in balcony and there is no tap i am not liable to pay for the rain water seepage down. Please confirm or correct my understanding.

This is my response to you:
1. Speak to the society and its manager/secretary;
2. The rain water seepage is not your responsibility since it does not form part of your plumbing defect;
3. If there is any problem in the structural part of the building then the builder should be called;
4. Otherwise the society should handle the repairs if it is causing certain inconvenience to its members.
