Non Freehold Property and transfer procedure

26-Aug-2023 (In Property Law)
My mother owns a flat which is not freehold yet and she pays the ground rent to the society. How can she transfer the property in my name and also make it freehold? She is willing to do in any form whether POA or gift deed. What are the charges for doing the same?

Hello, I have perused your query.
If the property is a DDA property then- The homes that the DDA develops are allotted through a lottery system. These units are given on a leasehold purpose that can be later converted into a freehold property after paying a conversion charge.
The title of the property can be mutated in your name thereafter. However, Mutation of the property is usually done after the death of the original allottee of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) or Land & Development Office (L&DO) property, or when it is sold.
