Legal provision for the partition of property

Land property is in the name of my both maternal grandparents name. Now both are expired. My mother is the only daughter & has Four sons. Land property has not been mutated till date . Now the family members on the part want to make mutation of the land . If the land mutation takes place, the combined property will be transferred in the name of my mother and four sons  Kindly clarify on the following 1. At the time of partition, how the land will be divided among them. what is the legal provision. whether it will be divided in to five parts or half of the land will go to daughter of Bidyadhar Rout and other half of the land will go to the four sons of Giridhari Rout
