Is it ok to buy a land that has been given by Govt

There are 150 square yards of land. this particular land as per seller has been gifted to him by the Government in the year 2005. he is planning to sell it for some reason now and my question is, will it be safe for us to buy this property, am trying to find out online from other sources as well. Its a patta land which has AP Bhoodan Yagna Board's seal over it.
You cannot get title over this land if you buy it. Check the Allottment letter given to him if it says rights including alienation but usually government lands are not given to sell. They are given to enjoy the property only.
