How to get pattadar pass-book issued and what are the required details
02-Mar-2023 (In Property Law)
I want a pattadar passbook to be issued for my ancestral property. What is the procedure to get it and what documents are required for the same?
A Pattadar Pass Book (PPB) is a document which contains all the details of land owned by you (pattadar). This PPB is issued by revenue officials on their own (suo motu) under Record of Rights Act. (R R Act).
The authorities will need your passport size photograph and signature or a thumb impression for the same. MRO is the competent authority that issues PPB. You must apply for the same in a prescribed application form filled accurately with all details in three copies. The application must be presented to MRO or Revenue Inspector (RI).
You must enclose the death certificate of earlier owner, since you have received the property through succession.
MRO will issue a notice to you and the general public to raise objections, if any. You should fully cooperate with the revenue officials verifying your claim application. After filing the application it is reasonable to wait for one month for the PPB. The verification and enquiry involves enquiry under law which is usually a thorough and lengthy process.
Once the MRO is satisfied about your claims after due enquiry, he will issue the PPB to you. Make sure that you verify the PPB and ensure that all entries are accurate. If there is delay, or no proper response, meet the RDO or Sub-Collector concerned.
