Division of property built by grandfather
30-Aug-2023 (In Property Law)
Our house which is built by my granfather and few years back, he passed away. Now according to law, who is the owner of the house? My grand mother or the property will distributed to each child and wife equally? Please provide with law passed with refrence of the answer
Hi, According to Hindu Succession Act, if you belong to Hindu community, the property will be equally divided among the legal heirs which means your grandmother and their children. So if your father has 3 more brother and sisters then the property will have 5 legal heirs, so it will be divided into five parts. If any of your father's sibling is not surviving then it will go to his/her legal heirs.
