Demand for Society Documents
06-Sep-2023 (In Property Law)
One of the member in our Society is planning to sell his flat. He has asked for a copy of Conveyance deed, Property card, registration certificate, Society approved plan and "No Dues clearance certificate" from the Society. Kindly advise if We can share such documents with the member. Can we charge them for making the copies of these documents?
This is my response to you:
1. As a society member he is allowed to request for the copies of the mentioned documents;
2. But he has to state the reasons for the same in writing by making a formal application to the society manager;
3. He is also required to pay nominal fees for the same;
4. Read the bye-laws of the society and charge him for that.
