Sale of gift deed legal process

I want to sell a house that is in my father's name,who is now deceased. The property paper is in the form of gift deed. Since I have no legal knowledge I want to know the entire process,since it was gifted to my father by my uncle and vice versa. Do we need the permission to sell from my uncle?
In my opinion at first you can take legal heir certificate and then mutation the property in your name and then sell the property.
