Is Withdrawal of promotional benefits legal ?

I was given promotion and increment there on in the next pay scale as I had reached the maximum of the pay scale. Now the admin is reversing the same and recovering from my salary. Is it legal.
No a benefit once conferred in regard to increment and promotion can not be revoked as a matter of general rule unless special circumstances so demands. you will have to check the policy of your company what it states regarding the same
