Insurance claim advice and help

My ex husband was riding the Scooty that’s in my name and met with an accident. The opp man died and now there’s a case. I received a notice from an advocate stating I have to pay compensation of 40 lakhs is this even right. What should I do!

You shall be held liable for compensation from claimant of compensation.Because you are owner of vehicle used in vehicle.But if you have insured that vehicle against third party liability.And policy is in existence.Then insurance company can pay compensation and thereby your burden can be shifted in favour of insurance company.
