In a bizarre turn of events, a woman in Andhra Pradesh's Khajipet has been arrested after she married six men and fled with valuables. The fraud came to light after the Khajipet police arrested Mounica and two of her associates, including her father.
The police discovered the three-member gang which has fooled six men till now while investigating a case of missing woman.
The police have stated that three months ago the woman had married one B Ramakrishna Reddy from Kommuluru in Khajipet mandal. The man was so impressed with Mounica's beauty that he gave money and other valuables to her family. However, the father of Mounica took her back home later and while leaving Mounica had taken 13 tolas of gold with her. When she did not come back, Reddy searched her native and other places but to no avail. Later, he filed a complaint at the Khajipet police station about his missing wife.
After the complaint was filed, the Deputy Commissioner of Police formed a special team to search the woman which tried to find the woman at various places including Guntur, Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam, and Hyderabad but could not find her whereabouts.
Subsequently, the police were informed about the suspicious movement of a woman and suspected Mounica and her father to be the same. It was found out during the investigation that she had married five other men and had run away with gold, cash and other valuables.
The Circle Inspector has stated that the father-daughter duo along with their accomplice used to stay in the in-laws' house for some time and Mounica used to vanish with gold, cash, and other valuables after some time.
