File your #MeToo complaints with us, says Delhi Commission for Women

October 15, 2018

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has appealed to women claiming to have sexually harassed under the #MeToo campaign to file a complaint with them. The Commission also released a separate email id ([email protected]) to report complaints under the campaign. The Chief of the Commission, Swati Maliwal has stated that she has read the tweets by the women alleging sexual harassment and will look into them on a personal level. The officials have stated that they are totally astonished to see the number of women voicing up against the sexual predators while narrating their harassment stories through the #MeToo campaign. The DCW chief has stated that “ the sheer numbers of women and girls reporting sometimes against a single individual reveals the extent of the problem, including the fact that they continue to prey on women and get away with it while rising in their careers.” The #MeToo movement, which started in the United States of America, has picked up the pace in India after the actress Tanushree Dutta alleged sexual harassment on the veteran actor Nana Patekar leading to various eminent women personalities narrating their horrific ordeals with sexual predators through the said campaign.
