A stepfather arrested for allegedly raping his minor daughter

In a shameful set of events in Delhi, a stepfather is alleged to have raped his 14-year-old minor girl in the absence of the mother. According to the Police, the girl is currently 26 weeks pregnant. The girl's mother had married the accused after being separated from her first husband since she was subjected to physical abuse in her first marriage. After separation, the two daughters from her previous marriage started living with her and the accused as they used to be beaten up by their father. The accused had molested the elder stepdaughter, 20-year-old in 2017. He had even threatened to attack the 20-year-old if she told anyone about the incident. However, she registered a complaint against him and the stepfather was later sent to jail after being convicted of molesting her. After serving his term in prison, the stepfather returned home and allegedly raped his 14-year-old stepdaughter while the mother was away. According to the Police, the mother came to know about the incident after she returned home and immediately informed the police of the same. The accused, a plumber, has been booked for raping the minor and has now been arrested.
