When fights turn deadly: Man stabs mother-in-law and pregnant wife

In a shocking set of events, a 23 year old man stabbed his pregnant wife and mother in law in Delhi's Keshavpuram. While the mother-in-law dies on the spot, the condition of the wife is critical. The accused, Afroz, is absconding and a murder case has been registered against him. The accused works as a daily wage labourer and got married to his wife 10 months ago. He got into an argument with his wife, who is three months pregnant on Thursday evening and the mother-in-law interfered in order to solve it. However, Afroz grabbed a kitchen knife, stabbed both the women and fled. After the incident, both the women were taken to a nearby hospital where the mother in law of the accused was declared dead on arrival, while the pregnant wife was admitted to the ICU in a critical condition. Police are waiting for her condition to improve to record her statement and find the exact motive behind the assault. The CCTV footage of the area is being scanned to figure out the route taken by the accused to run away. The neighbours are also being questioned and it has been revealed that the couple used to fight frequently. The mother in law had come to stay with them for a few days to solve their marital issues.
