Crackers burst outside the Supreme Court to protest against ban on firecracker sale
October 18, 2017An association of people protested outside the Supreme Court after the recent verdict of firecracker’s sale. There were fourteen people including three women, who were arrested and taken to Tilak Marg Police station.
The people linked with an organisation named ‘Azad Hind Fauj’ have staged a protest by bursting firecrackers outside Supreme Court premises.
The association was led by a man named Satpal Malhotra, reported the police.
The incident took place after a video of Tajinder Bagga, Delhi BJP spokesperson, had tweeted and shared a video of his distributing firecrackers to slum kids in the national capital’s Hari Nagar area.
The Supreme court bench headed by Justice A K Sikri banned the sale of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR region. After which the court also rejected the plea of firecrackers traders to modify the order.
Thereafter, National Green Tribunal on Tuesday refused to uplift the ban stating the Supreme Court’s order is “law of the land”.
