Ladlord lathi charged my friend and put him in police custody

My friend was lathi charged and putted on police custody on electricity dispute.
See it is disputes between landlord with owner ..this matter clear in court should be send through legal notice how the policers involve This matter they can not have any rights to take a custody..if it's is going with settlement no problem but have to see on which basis they took him to custody
