Compensation from landlord for evicting tenant without giving notice

16-May-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
Dear Team, We are hindu family living in a property  from last 50 years and being a tenant we were paying a rental of Rs. 40-50 per month till 2006. Post that, initial landlord sold the property to someone without giving notice to us. Therefore, we discontinued paying rent afterward. Now, we want to move from this property to somewhere else. My question is in regard of same, whether we can claim any compensation for evacuating the said premise from landlord as we have identified the actual owner of property. If yes, then how should we calculate compensation amount.

There is no provision to compensate the tenant at the time of vacation of property, however there is law which gives the protection to the tenant that if without Bonafide requirements and discontinuation of payment of rent the landlord make pressure to vacate the house he can approach the court of law.
