Wrong marital status stated for Govt job in the excise department

I applied for govt job in excise department... And mentioned married inadvertently.... But I am unmarried...noticed mistake after interview...will it cause any problem in my joining

As you have not told regarding the advertisement is there any condition for the post you have given interview married or unmarried candidates are required. If no condition was there then you need to worry. If you are selected there will be no problem.

I recommended you to write representation to the Chairman excise department of your state as well as the interviewing authority with immediate effect and mention categorically that it was wrongly mentioned and the your act while filing up the form was neither intentional nor deliberate .It will be better if you attached notrised attested affidavit along with your representation and do attach some document which show your marital status like copy of passport or aadhar card.
