Working for 4 years & 10 months am i eligible for gratuity benefit

Helloo sir/madam,i am working in a hospital since 4 year 10month i got notice period of current month,now my boss says u r not eligible for gratuity becoz u havnt completed 5 years service now now i want to know is 4 year and 10 month service is enough for gratuity?? Please ans

Dear sir,
The rules for gratuity are different from company to company. Usually it's 5 years of service in a company. It's really difficult that the company shall acknowledge 4 years 10 months into gratuity period. You need to check the company service book and the terms and conditions laid down in paying of gratuity
