06-Feb-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
i was arrested under ipc 308 over a fight with the neighbour four years ago and i got bail within 9 days..later we also registered case against them and as a result fir was also registered against them and the fir was quashed by compromise between 2 parties within 1 year..i was a student that time and my lawyer told me not to mention it anywhere as it has been quashed...now if i apply for any government/private sector jobs or visa then do i need to mention details of this case...kindly help

As the FIR was quashed you stand clear from any criminal liability there will be no effect on your employment or career however, It is just an excuse and high court quashes an FIR only when it seems fit to do so. Once the FIR is quashed no one can say that your record is not clean.

An FIR which has been quashed means that has been declared as invalid and hence has lost its sanctity. So technically it means that you were wrongly charged for the offense. Your advocate of that time is right. You are not required to state anything about this case to anyone as that has been quashed. Had it been like that you have been found not guilty by getting a judgment in your favor then you were obliged to mention the details of this case. But in case of quashing of an FIR you are not required to do the same.
