What to do if company kept me on hold for 1 year after giving job

03-Jan-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
Hello, I was placed on campus after my MBA and the company offered me both offer letter and appointment letter and also the contract was signed by both parties. But, at first they delayed the joining date and then eventually after 6 months of delaying, they denied the offer saying they do not have any projects in hand (NO SUCH CLAUSE MENTIONED IN THE CONTRACT). And now I see that the company is hiring for the very same profile by posting on internet jobs websites. The contract mentioned about 1 year of probation period but we were never called for the job. I feel like I was kept on hold and cheated and it has adversely impacted my career as I am still looking for a stable job opportunity. How strong is the case and how should I go about?

You can send them a legal notice for the breach of contract and can seek the compensation thereto. If they refuse to honour your legal notice then you can drag them before the competent court of jurisdiction for the breach of contract, for mental harassment, for spoiling your career to an extent and can seek compensation against each head.

If the company had agreed to pay you salary from the date you were appointed or from the date you had signed the agreement then you can file recovery suit against the Company. Send a legal notice through a lawyer and initiate the proceeding.

Dear sir,
I would suggest to file a complaint in the concerned police station of that area against the company for the cheating and fraud committed. In the mean while, you file a consumer complaint against the company before the consumer forum seeking damages in view of the contact entered into between you and the company. In the said complaint You can pray for the compensation due to the loss of your time and money as well a big loss to your career growth as they have already given you both offer letter as well appointment letter. You have a good case.
