What are the Rules regarding taking Medical leave by a public servant?

Sir, if a public servant takes 15days Medical leave in a month and he consecutively takes 14 days in the following month. Half of the salary was retained by the department for taking the leave continuously.when asked, the explanation given was the amount would be released after getting proper sanction from the department. what is the legal remedy for this? Kindly reply. Thank you

the law and rule on medical leave is vast. here we are not clear that under which department are you working, every department every officer from Class 1 to Class IV have different kinds of leaves. "Public Servant" is a vast dimension. Kindly file a RTI in your department asking them the clarity on medical leave. this should clear your doubt on it.
