Hi, I need help on understanding 'letter of committment'. I have got a new job and the employer has asked to sign one. Let me know if it has some legal implications
The title given to a document has little effect on its legal implications. What matters is the frame and substance of the document. A letter of commitment you are referring to may have been phrased as a non binding MOU or could contain certain binding terms. One would have to peruse the contents thereof to form any sort of opinion on its legal implications.
